I created crosses for them that I felt were perfect for them and customized the patina to make it seem that the cross and the vessels were one piece all along. The photos do not do these bottles justice, but I did my best when shooting them. Please read the descriptions for each bottle for more information.

The first three bottles listed below are from our Private Collection and we will be uploading more of our Classic Collection as the week goes on, so be sure to check back in.

__________~*~__________

Crystal Crosses

Click on photograph to enlarge image of the cross bottle.

Framed within heavy, weathered solder, a stunning cross of leaded crystal, Austrian crystal and glass chandelier remnants provides a beautiful example of the juxtaposition of rustic and refined. Supporting the cross is a circa 1880 antique cork top amber bottle donned in a spectacular masterpiece of a crusty, iridescent and rusty patina. Naturally created for over a century, the patina is imbued with an absolute riot of amazing colors that change as the light dances across the surface of the weighty, antique glass. I have matched that patina on the solder so it looks like the cross and bottle were always a single piece. A very special collector piece that can stand alone or bejewel your existing collection.

Photographs do not do this piece justice. The crystals refract and throw an amazing amount of light with a confetti of color and are much more clear and brilliant than the pictures show. Serving as the pedestal for the cross is a mid to late 19th century cork top amber bottle that was excavated on a shipwreck dive. The bottle is veiled in an absolutely spectacular masterpiece of a crusty, iridescent and rusty patina which makes the bottle look almost metallic. Light looks to be radiating from within as if glowing. I have never seen such a beautiful bottle.

Naturally created for over a century, the patina is imbued with a riot of amazing colors that change as the light dances across the surface of the weighty, antique glass. I have matched that patina on the solder so it looks like the cross and bottle were always a single piece A very special piece that can stand along or bejewel your existing collection.

The bottle pontil doesn't allow for the bottle to stand completely straight on its own. It will stand, but it rocks on the pontil, however it is in no danger of tipping over because of the weighty rim. We did not want to alter the rare bottle, so we use candle tack (available everywhere) to keep it perfectly upright and it works great. At your request we can grind the glass on the bottom of the bottle for you for a permanent fix, if you so choose.

Photographs do not do this piece justice. The bottle's iridescence and 'frost' is so much more lovely in person. See additional photos below.

additional images:

Click on collage to enlarge images.

Item #: 11CWA-MB1044
Overall Height: 14"
$275

--SOLD--

____________________

Click on photograph to enlarge image of the cross bottle.

Quintessentially vintage and perfect for Autumn, this warm amber cross bottle is quite special. Elegant in its simplicity, yet powerfully refined - gorgeous chandelier crystals are held within heavy solder of rusted iron hues to form a coptic style cross. Donned in its original label showing signs of its age, it is clear that this antique vessel once held oil of amber and the timeworn label is a beautiful contrast to the opulent and finely cut crystal. The color of the glass is fabulous - it's variegated - more saturated in some places than others and large and lovely bubbles are forever trapped between the hand blown glass, dating the bottle pre 1906 and most likely in the 1800's.

Item #: 11CWA-MB1001
Overall Height: 8.25"
$129

--SOLD--

____________________

Click on photograph to enlarge image of the cross bottle.

The whisperings of Autumn --

Heavily sculpted solder, washed in the worn and rusted hues of weathered iron, frame the plethora of radiant crystals which form the petite French Alisee cross. It is beautifully apparent that the crystals have been cut to catch and refract as much light possible by the confetti of color which is thrown when light washes across the faceted crystal surfaces. The rustic yet refined cross crowns a weighty bottle of antique amber glass that has fabulous bubbles forever held within its walls. An earthy, ethereal patina veils the bottles interior -- a testament to the vessel's many years spent buried and hidden away underground.

Item #: 11CWA-MB1004
Overall Height: 9"
$110

--SOLD--

____________________

Click on photograph to enlarge image of the cross bottle.

Elegant in its simplicity and framed within heavy solder of rusted iron hues, a cross of crystal chandelier rosettes with hearts of solder crowns a pristine bottle of deep amber glass. The same solder sits beautifully at the heart of each rosette of the cross - creating a beautiful juxtaposition of rustic and refined

Item #: 11CWA-MB1003
Overall Height: 8.75"
$95

--SOLD--

__________~*~__________

Petite Pewters

Click on photograph to enlarge image of the cross bottle.

A diminutive crucifix of antiqued pewter is held fast within weathered solder, imbued with the hues of weathered iron, to an antique bottle of warm, vintage amber glass.
